5G is Coming

Lakewood Ranch, Florida:

5G or 5th generation wireless technology, is the next industry evolution which will be used to connect the world at faster speeds with improved performance. Users in large cities will join the network via multiple Massive MIMO antennas to receive optimal performance nearly 10x what the current 4G Technology can offer. Currently, development of 5G is being led by several companies, including Samsung, Intel, Qualcomm, Nokia, Huawei, Ericsson, ZTE and others.

Although 5G is planned to be commercially available worldwide by 2020, several countries have already began negotiations for 5G trials in metropolitan cities worldwide. Liberty Port will begin a rigorous development of in-house 5G solutions which will be geared toward users interacting in the programmable world via smart apps and automated sensors. Our SMARTCity, program will allow for telecom operators and automated systems providers to implement and test 5G solutions within their network before full scale implementation. MMT: Massive Machine Type communications, will test the integrity of the network ranging from security measures to interoperability with current SCADA/ICS hardware.

Using a state of the art simulated test environment, Liberty Port has the ability to recreate clients’ complex infrastructure systems including but not limited to Distributed Control System (DCS) to highlight process control, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) for discrete control, and Master Terminal Unit (MTU)/Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) for SCADA Platforms.

Through our in-house training program, system administrators and plant controllers will have the ability to learn new technologies firsthand and have real-time experience before the changes impact their live environment.
